Best and worst weekend

Well, the good news is that our little Manx kitten Bahl will make it and the two sibs Foggy bottom and Minky were preadopted as was Dixie.
The bad news is that we lost Punks on Sunday morning in spite of the Cat Hospitals best efforts. His 4 brothers are doing well and will come home today. We spent the weekend battling a resurgence of fleas and I for one will be happy if I never have to bathe another full grown cat!
I still have trouble understanding the amount of fleas on the cats when they are treated monthly with Advantage and we flea-bombed the whole house not 3 weeks ago. Apearantly this is an exceptional year for fleas and I am not the only one with a stuborn problem -even the vets are having issues at home.
It maybe that the fleas are a holdover from the new house having been a dog rescue facility before we bought it in March. We used an insane quantity of flea powder this time and left it down for 2 days. We bombed the vehicles and washed the curtains again. The dust on the porches will stay down until nature washes it away so we are cautiously optomistic that we got them but the vet recommended using the Advantage every 2 weeks for a few months so we shall see.

The Cat Hospitalcalled me and told me we lost Patches. I was already on the way to take them home so I picked up the other 3 and brought them home. Seems the shots they got last Saturday(the 17th) caused some sort of reaction and they started loosing weight so we took them in to the vet on the 24th. Peaches, Pebbles and Bam Bam are gaining weight again so we hope they can fend the reaction off. Time will tell.
